Time has arrived to Strengthen the Discipline of Angiosperm & Taxonomy: Dr. S. R. Yadav”

“Stenghthened discipline of Angiosperm and Taxonomy is need of Modern India and the youth is expected to widen the boarders of it.” said Dr. S.R. Yadav, vice president of Indian Association for Angiosperm and Taxonomy (IAAT) while delivering ‘Prof. Y. D. Tyagi Medal Lecture’ in 31st IAAT conference and International conference on ‘Documentation, Bioprospecting and Biodiversity Conservation for Sustainable Development’oganized by Dr. D. Y. Patil Unitech Society’s Dr. D. Y. Patil Arts, Commerce & Science College, Akurdi, Pune at Yash resort, Kalsubai-Harishchandragad Wildlife Sanctuary, Tal. Akole, Dist. Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. He was delivering a speech on ‘My Journey of Plants’. He was addressing to the participant in second half of the first day.
The conference has been organized by a college in forest for the very first time in last 30 years. Dr. Mohan Waman, Principal of Dr. D. Y.Patil Arts, Commerce & Science College, Akurdi is an organizing secreatry of this conference. Chancellor of Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Hon’ble Dr. P. D. Patil Sir and Secretary of Dr. D. Y. Patil Unitech Society, Hon’ble Dr. Somnathdada Patil supported and wished a grand success for the conference.
This conference will be held from 5th-7th April, 2022. There were around 250 participants, research scholars and students are present for the conference there at Yash resort. The inauguration ceremony was followed by the keynote addresses of eminent persons from the field of taxonomy. Dr. Alka Chaturvedi chaired the second half. In this session, Dr. Ashio Mao, Director of Botonical Survey of India (BSI), Kolkata delivered first keynote speech. “Local people should be taken into consideration while doing research on Plants or Biodiversity of particular region. Without it, the research will be incomplete”., said Dr.Mao and highlight importnce of local inoformation in research.
Dr. Ashok Giri, Senior Scientist from National Chemical Lab, Pune delivered second keynote address to the participants. He delivered speech on ‘Exploring the Plants Metabolite Diversity for Bio-prospecting and Sustainable Development’. He explained the process of Ecological Experiments conducted at CSIR-NCL. “Nature’s defence is worth a study and this type of conferences will explore more nature’s miracles” said Dr. Giri.
Dr. Debabrata Maity and Dr Rama Rao delivered ‘Prof. V. V. Shivarajan’ and ‘Prof. Kameshwara Rao’medal lectures respectively. Dr. Sasidharan, President of IAAT, Dr. Santosh Namphy, Secretary of IAAT, Dr. Narsimhan, Secretary, Dr. P. Sunoj Kumar, Treasurer of IAAT , Dr. Prabha Bhogaonkar, Dr. Milind Sardesai, Dr. Arvind Dhabe, Dr Sachin Punekar along with other dignitaries were present for the session.
Dr. Mukesh Tiwary, Asst. Prof. ManjushaKothawade, Asst. Prof. Radhakrushna Thange, Asst. Prof. Khalid Shaikh, Asst. Prof. Karishma Sayyed, Ast. Prof. Hemal Dhage, Asst. Prof. Chetan Sarwade, Asst. Prof. Ganesh Funde, Asst. Prof. Satish Thakar, Asst. Prof. Mayur Murkute, Asst. Prof. Sandhya Patil, Asst. Prof. Babloo Navle, Asst. Prof. Rohit Warvadkar take efforts for the success of the conference.
