FIELD VISIT OF KALSUBAI-HARISHCHANDRAGAD WILDLIFE SANCTUARY DONE BY SCHOLARS FROM ALL OVER THE COUNTRY

31st IAAT conference and International conference on ‘Documentation, Bioprospecting and Biodiversity Conservation for Sustainable Development’ has been organized by Dr. D. Y. Patil Unitech Society’s Dr. D. Y. Patil Arts, Commerce & Science College, Akurdi, Pune at Yash resort, Kalsubai-Harishchandragad Wildlife Sanctuary, Tal. Akole, Dist. Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. It was the second day of conference. The organizing committee decided to arrange field visit to the participants and around 250 research scholars participated. The main objective behind the visit was to provide on field observation experience to the participants and to make them aware of rich flora of Maharashtra as most of them were from out of state.

The conference has been organized by a college in forest for the very first time in last 30 years. Dr. Mohan Waman, Principal of Dr. D. Y.Patil Arts, Commerce & Science College, Akurdi is an organizing secreatry of this conference. Chancellor of Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Hon’ble Dr. P. D. Patil Sir and Secretary of Dr. D. Y. Patil Unitech Society, Hon’ble Dr. Somnathdada Patil supported and wished a grand success for the conference.

This conference held from 5th-7th April, 2022. There were around 250 participants, research scholars and students are present for the conference there at Yash resorts. The field visit day was followed by the valedictory function on 7th April, 2022. Eminent persons from the field of taxonomy were present for the valedictory function. Hon’ble Dr. N. Sasidharan, President of IAAT, chaired the function as Hon’ble Dr. S. R. Yadav, Vice President of IAAT, Hon’ble Dr. Santosh Namphy, Secretary of IAAT, Hon’ble Dr. Narsimhan, Secretary of IAAT, Dr. Mohan Waman, Organizing Secretary of the conference and Principal of Dr. D. Y. Patil Arts, Commerce & Science College, Akurdi, Pune and Dr. Milind Sardesai, Head, Department of Botany, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune were present on the dais.

Dr. Milind Sardesai started the program with welcome of all participants. Dr. Mukesh Tiwary read report of the conference. It was followed by Dr. N. Sasidharan’s presidential address. He shared his views on organization of the conference. Dr. Santosh Namphy then declares the award winners and felicitates them on stage. It was followed by the felicitations of organizing team members of Dr. D. Y. Patil Arts, Commerce & Science College, Akurdi along with News reporters those were present for the conference from last 3 days. Then Dr. S. R. Yadav, vice President of IAAT and Dr. Narsimhan, Secretary of IAAT shared their views respectively about the conference. Feedback was taken from both the participants and IAAT members on stage. Dr. Mohan Waman expressed vote of thanks. Dr. P. Sunoj Kumar, Treasurer of IAAT , Dr. Prabha Bhogaonkar, Dr. Arvind Dhabe, along with other dignitaries were present for the session.

Asst. Prof. Bhagvat Dhesale anchored the function. Asst. Prof. Manjusha Kothawade, Asst. Prof. Radhakrushna Thange, Asst. Prof. Khalid Shaikh, Asst. Prof. Karishma Sayyed, Ast. Prof. Hemal Dhage, Asst. Prof. Chetan Sarwade, Asst. Prof. Ganesh Funde, Asst. Prof. Satish Thakar, Asst. Prof. Mayur Murkute, Asst. Prof. Sandhya Patil, Asst. Prof. Babloo Navle, Asst. Prof. Rohit Warvadkar take efforts for the success of the conference.
